This switch turns on the light when the door is opened, and off when closed. They typically are rusted out and will stop functioning. Made in Germany.
You will probably need a seal, located here.

NOTE: You will have to adapt the connector from a 3.5mm (1/8″) connector to a 6.35mm (1/4″) connector. Optional harness connector is also available with marine grade (adhesive inside) heat shrink.
You should also replace the switch seal to make sure these do not rust out in the future.
