Description
Mk1 & Mk2 HVAC Vacuum Check Valve
The HVAC Vacuum Check Valve (Black / Blue) is a critical restoration component for maintaining the vacuum integrity of your vehicle’s climate control, brake, and EVAP systems. Over time, these valves wear out and lose their ability to hold vacuum, leading to faulty HVAC controls or engine idle issues.
Key Benefits and Functions
-
Restores System Control: This new non-return valve improves and restores HVAC controls by preventing vacuum leaks.
-
Maintains Vacuum Reserve: It ensures the system retains vacuum even when the engine is off, allowing for consistent control operation.
-
Broad System Support: Beyond HVAC, this valve plays a role in controlling the brake booster and EVAP systems.
Diagnostics and Troubleshooting
If you suspect a faulty valve, you can perform these checks:
-
Vacuum Testing: Use a tool to verify if the entire system is leaking. For example, a Mityvac MV8000.
-
Simple Manual Test: Suck through each end of the valve; if air passes through both sides, the valve is bad and requires replacement.
-
Check Related Parts: Inspect your vacuum connector hoses. Even if they appear “ok,” they may be leaking and require replacement.
Technical Specifications and Compatibility
-
Replaces Part No: 843 820 675 (or 843820675).
-
Appearance: Available in Black / Blue or Green / Blue; both versions share the exact same technical specifications. As a result, ours are black and blue.
-
Primary Fitment:
-
Volkswagen: Fits all Mk1 and Mk2 (A1 & A2) models, including the Scirocco, Rabbit, Jetta, and Cabriolet.
-
Audi: Compatible with the Audi Fox.
-
-
Extended Fitment: This valve also fits a wide range of BMW (3, 5, 7 series, M3, M5, X5, Z3, Z8) and Mercedes-Benz (220, 240D, 280E, 300D, 450SL) models from the late 1960s through the early 2000s. This is because it is a very universal valve and may work on other vehicles as well.
Restore your Sciroccos HVAC system with this new Non Return HVAC Vacuum Check Valve. Made by the OES supplier, Piersburg in Germany. Moreover, this new unit will improve / restore your HVAC controls and prevent any leakage in the vacuum system. These are used to keep vacuum retained in the system until vacuum is needed, even with the engine off. Overtime these will wear out and stop holding vacuum.
Diagnose a HVAC Vacuum Check Valve
To check these valves, check with a vacuum testing tool. If you are brave, simply suck through each end. If pressure can be sucked though both sides, the valve is bad and needs replacement.
These valves are used in the vacuum system to control the brake booster, HVAC & EVAP systems. If you have idle issues, this may also be faulty on your vehicle. Also check the vacuum connector hoses. Even if the rubber connectors look ‘ok’, they may need replaced. Vacuum check the entire system, to determine if they are in fact leaking. We use a Mityvac MV8000 tool to test this.
