WCR’s Mk1 and Mk2 Scirocco Battery Ground Cable are an exact replica that VW used from the factory in the 1970s and 1980s. These are hand made in house at WCR North. We use the Genuine VW OEM connectors and do not use any solder. These replicate are the same vintage look and slightly longer dimensions. This is because the factory never gave us enough room to connect and disconnect the battery ground connector.
These OES VW battery post connectors is superseded to a zinc-nickel plating. This prolongs the life of the terminal and cable. Zinc-nickel plated battery terminal is an one of the best materials for corrosion protection and is generally considered superior to standard zinc plating or lead terminals. Furthermore, zinc-nickel plating is formulated to withstand harsh, acidic underhood or marine environments by providing a sacrificial barrier that is up to 10 times more corrosion-resistant than standard zinc.
Also, these have the same auxiliary blade “Spade” terminal on the side for auxiliary or accessory power or grounds. Just like the OEM VW Cables did from the factory.
